A tragic shooting occurred early this morning at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno. According to police, the incident happened around 7:25 a.m. near the valet area of the resort. Officers arrived quickly and located the shooter within minutes. The suspect, an adult male, was injured during the response and taken to the hospital. Thankfully, there is no ongoing threat to the public. Multiple people were shot and injured. Some officers were also hurt, but not by gunfire. Their injuries are reported to be minor. First responders, including ambulances and tactical units, were seen surrounding the resort. As of now, police are urging everyone to avoid the area while the investigation continues. Reno’s Mayor, Hillary Schieve, expressed sympathy for the victims and praised emergency crews for their quick actions. City Council members and local leaders have also responded, offering support to those affected. The Grand Sierra Resort remains open but is cooperating fully with investigators.
