Ding and Dang are two beautiful slot canyons just a short drive from the well known Bell and Little Wildhorse Canyons. Although in close proximity to each other they are very different hiking experiences. Ding is a beautiful canyon with a short narrows section that offers multiple sections of class 3 and 4 scrambling. After exiting Ding you follow a faint social trail for a mile before being dropped into the wash that leads to Dang. Dang is significantly more challenging with numerous large drops most of which require a handline,long sections of standing water that require wading or stemming, and a longer narrows section. where as the crux of Ding barely exceeds class 3 the crux of Dang is absolutely low class 5. This hike is alittle over 7 miles to do the whole loop and has beautiful scenery the entire time! If you're looking for a less crowded and more challenging experience than Bell and Little Wild Horse, look no further! Enjoy!
